Believing in People, Planet, Prosperity – Corporate Social Responsibility
Businesses find it profitable today to be responsible corporate-citizens as both customers and employees appreciate companies which look beyond the bottom line. In recent years it has become global practice that businesses must be more sustainable, more people focused and environmentally aware of impacts on our planet in order to be prosperous. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an evolving concept, with contributions to understanding its many facets coming from all aspects of the society: corporations, public, local communities, academia, and governments.
TBL-Triple Bottom-Line at APR defines corporate social responsibility as ‘a planned business function by which a company seeks to benefit its stakeholders and the larger community, in a manner that in turn strengthens its own sustainability.’ It is widely accepted that corporate volunteering has become a key component for the success of a company’s CSR and Corporate Citizenship strategies. At a global level, corporate volunteering is perhaps the fastest growing area in Corporate Social Responsibility world. At the national level in Pakistan, our partner companies are committed to bringing a similar volunteer framework in Pakistan through their executives.
